Functional Beverage Menu Language

A practical guide for describing functional beverage intelligence by occasion, format, ritual, and guest outcome.

Start the menu copy with what the drink is doing in the room. Aperitif, spritz, nightcap, social pour, calming ritual, bright lift, and culinary pairing all give guests a better route than replacement language.

Name the format before the function. A guest can understand bitter spritz, sparkling adaptogen can, hop-forward beer alternative, or botanical highball before they need a lecture about the category.

Keep functional language useful and cautious. Say what the product is positioned to do, keep safety and dosing out of casual copy, and route stronger claims through source review before publishing.
